With winter on its way it’s time to swap those smoothie bowls for some warming porridge for breakfast. SpamellaB has created this fantastic gluten free option by using quinoa instead of oats.


For the porridge: –

50g Quinoa
1 scoop Vanilla protein (can be vegan)
1 tsp Vanilla extract
Handful frozen blueberries
2 tbsp Active Edge BlueberryActive concentrate

To top: –

Active Edge BlueberryActive dried tart cherries
Flaked almonds
Pumpkin seeds


  1. Rinse the quinoa and place in pan with enough water to cover. Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes, adding more water to ensure it has a porridge consistency.
  2. Towards the end of cooking, stir in the protein powder, vanilla, blueberry extract and blueberries and allow to heat through.
  3. Remove from the heat, pour into a bowl and add your toppings. Now enjoy!
